Facilities and Administrative costs as of January 2, 2017

The Center for Rare Neurological Diseases charges facilities and administration as a percentage of the cost for each project at the center. These costs are associated with operating and maintenance costs of the facility, such as utility costs, security costs, and custodial costs, as well as common administrative functions such as payroll and purchasing. These indirect costs are added as a percentage to the direct study costs for each budget.

The percentage charged for projects is set at 30% for all studies. The Center for Rare Neurological Diseases makes exception for non-profit entities which are charged a set percentage of 10% for all studies. In rare cases the Facilities and Administrative percentage can be negotiated for targeted non-profit gifts and grants to the center.
